Animation Tests
All of these animations were tests, just to get into the swing of things and get to grips with the new rig to see how it worked and what i could do with it. None of them took very long and they aren't amazing, i just wanted to playaround. Some of these were also tasks that we were given, so the box push and the breath cycle were things that Phil asked us to do.
Storyboard
So this piece was actually done while in the team of 4. I did this as an initial idea just to get the ball rolling. So we'd have a generic kind of fight between two people that had all the animation in it that we'd need. However, after talking to my current team mate, we thought about cutting it down and changing it so it would flow better.
This then led to these sketches, the animation the two of us are doing is based on these. We thought about how we could fit 6 animations each into this storyboard, and then which to cut it down to. So we decided our favorite 4 actions based on this, rather than creating 6 animations first. The 6 animations will be completed though, we just know which ones we're definitely using.
In the beginning...
So, yes, i'm aware nothing has been posted for animation yes, however! It is being done!!
So, the task is to create 6 animations. And then to pick your favorite 4 and put in one large cinematic type thing. Each animation had to be something you'd find in a game, so, a run cycle, a walk cycle, a jump, reload, crawl etc. We were also required to work in teams...or it was advised that we do...
The team i was in originally had 4 members, however, only 2 of those members actually did any of the work. I sorted the story board and animatic out whilst no-one did anything, then talking to one of the team members, we decided to split off and work in a pair as we were more comfortable working with each other, and trusted each other to do the work.
Since splitting off, we've been able to get quite a lot of work done, to the stage where most of the initial animation blockouts are done, it's just a case of refining them.
For privacy reasons, and the fact i'm not a lil'snitch, the guys which didn't contribute to the work, and then whined like little girls when we decided to split off and actually do something, won't be mentioned.
